Powershell: creiamoci un ambiente di lavoro

Nelle intenzioni di Microsoft, powershell è destinato a diventare la piattaforma di riferimento per la gestione remota e automatizzata dei loro sistemi. Specie con l’arrivo di Windows 2008 Core, privo di interfaccia grafica, tutta la gestione dei server viene fatta da remoto con questo potente tool.

Per poter iniziare ad usare powershell, agite in questo modo:

– un computer (o una virtual machine) con installato uno a scelta tra Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2; Windows Server 2008; Windows Vista Service Pack 1; Windows XP Service Pack 3 (le funzioni remoting funzionano solo con Vista o 2008)

– .NET Framework 2.0

– WinRM 2.0 CTP3 per usare le funzioni remoting

– .NET Framework 3.5.1 per usare Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE) e Out-GridView

La versione V2 Community Technology Preview 3 (CTP3) ha introdotto alcune nuove funzioni, tra cui:

PowerShell Remoting
Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE)
63 Nuovi Cmdlets
Modules
Script Debugging
Advanced Functions
PowerShell Class API

Anche VMware ovviamente è gestibile attraverso powershell. Per avere le funzioni che ci servono, aggiungete al sistema descritto il VI Toolkit (for Windows) 1.0 e il modulo viToolkitExtension.psm1 della Codeplex. Copiate le estensioni ad esempio in C:\temp, avviate gPowerShell.exe (nuovo in PowerShell 2.0) e registrate il modulo tramite il comando:

Add-Module “C:\Temp\viToolkitExtensions.psm1”

Avrete in questo modo un completo sistema powershell pronto all’uso.
