Veeam has always been a great supporter of Tech Field Day. As a sponsor Veeam presented several times at various TFD events, and both me and my colleague Rick Vanover have been previously TFD delegates before joining Veeam. We had another opportunity to meet Stephen Foskett and to present at TFD during VMworld EMEA 2014 in Barcelona last week. We had a 1 hour meeting and it was a really pleasant meeting as always. This time, we used our slot to talk a little bit more in details of two new upcoming features in Veeam Backup & Replication v8.
This will be my fourth VMworld in a row, the third in the US. But it will also be my first one. It’s no secret I joined Veeam this year in February (by the way, it’s six months now, time is flying…), and in my role I will attend both VMworld US and EMEA events. This will be my first experience at VMworld as a vendor employee, and I’m thinking about what to expect.
Veeam has announced some weeks ago its own first worldwide conference: it’s called VeeamON, and it will take place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, from 6 to 9 October 2014.
Registrations are already open, and the agenda is in the works. Now, you have the possibility to express your preferences by taking a quick survey, and choose among the submitted sessions, or to suggest new ones. We want to build a great conference, and since I’m among the people responsible for the technical content of the event, I’d really like to hear your opinion! So, open the survey, and choose your 8 favourite sessions.
HP Discover is the main worldwide event organized by HP every year. There is a US event and an EMEA one. In the past, I’ve attended a couple of times the EMEA version.
This year it’s going to be different for me. I joined Veeam Software few months ago, and Veeam is going to be, like in previous years, a sponsor of HP Discover. This means first of all I will attend this time also the US version of the event for the first time, and I will also have two presentations.
