Cosa succederà a vmware nel 2010?

Ha provato ad immaginarselo Mike Laverick, esperto di vmware e blogger.

L’articolo è interessante, e alcuni scenari ipotizzati sono condivisibili. Sicuramente una delle strade in cui si evolverà ESX sarà il supporto di vm sempre più grandi sia sul piano delle vcpu (adesso siamo ad 8) e della ram (adesso 256 gb). Non so se arriveremo al tera come dice Mike, ma chissà… Sicuramente i rapporti di consolidamento si alzeranno.

A questo proposito, ho rifatto un giro su alcuni dei server che gestisco, il massimo che ho in giro io è di 26 VM per host. Sicuramente da altre parti ci saranno valori maggiori, magari anche vicini ai fatidici 80 attualmente valore limite.
