La compatibilità delle cpu per FT

Questo articolo me l’ero perso, ma sono ancora in tempo per segnalarvelo. Eric Sloof ha riportato una comodissima tabella che riepiloga le varie reciproche compatibilità tra cpu per poter abilitare FT. Due cose saltano subito all’occhio: ovviamente amd e intel non si mischiano, e i nuovi processori Core i7 (la serie 5500 per intenderci) lavorano solo tra di loro, probabilmente a causa della notevole differenza di potenza rispetto ai predecessori.

Come infatti fa notare anche Eric, SiteSurvey di vCenter vi segnalerà come incompatibile ogni differenza di cpu di almeno 400 mhz; avremmo infatti la VM primaria molto più veloce della secondaria, e quindi una oggettiva difficoltà nell’allineare gli I/O delle due.
