Avete perso la password di ESXi? Beh, dovrete reinstallarlo, punto.

Se invece usate ESX, avete una possibilità di ripristinarla. Ecco come:

  1. Riavviate ESX
  2. quando compare la schermata di GRUB, premete la barra di spazio per arrestare il boot automatico di ESX
  3. selezionate la modalità Service Console only (troubleshooting mode)
  4. premete A per modificare gli argomenti del kernel
  5. nella linea che vi si presenta, digitate uno spazio seguito dalla parola “single”
  6. date invio, il sistema si avvia in single-user mode
  7. quando vi troverete davanti alla shell bash, indicata dal simbolo # digitate il comando passwd e date invio
  8. seguite le indicazioni per impostare una nuova password per root
  9. date il comando reboot per riavviare normalmente ESX
