Some notes from VMworld 2015

Luca Dell'Oca, September 8, 2015September 5, 2015

I’ve waited a week after VMworld ended in San Francisco before writing this post: there were too many blog posts from every blogger trying to cover any new announcement like a newspaper, and with the addition of news collected directly from the Expo Floor, sessions I’ve attended and other sources, the amount of info to digest required a bit of time. This post is not a recap of the event, just the things that I’ve seen and I found interesting. If something is not here, it may be that I’ve missed it rather than don’t liking it.

Luca Dell'Oca, August 13, 2012August 11, 2012

Luca Dell'Oca, February 10, 2012February 7, 2012

I was recently at a Symantec presentation, where they demoed Application HA. After a brief introduction about VMware HA (and the unfailing question “better to have physical or virtual vCenter?”), they explained the new HA in vSphere 5, particularly how VMware opened this system to third parties via API to…

Luca Dell'Oca, February 10, 2012February 7, 2012

Luca Dell'Oca, October 18, 2011October 18, 2011

I attendeed my first VMworld Europe 2011 session this morning. First part was basically a recap of the new HA, completely rewritten in version 5.0. The speaker, Keith Farkas from VMware, first showed how HA has changed in the last vSphere release: switch from AAH to FDM, no more primary/secondary…

Luca Dell'Oca, October 18, 2011

Sinceramente…
