VMware Update Manager e porte non standard

Se avete IIS già installato su un server l’aggiunta di VMware Update Manager va ovviamente effettuata su una porta tcp differente, ma questo porta solitamente al seguente errore quando in seguito si tenta di contattare il servizio:

Unable to connect to the remote server

Ci si potrebbe aspettare che nel file extension.xml o vci-integrity.xml nella directory di installazione di VUM ci sia un’opzione mail configurata, ma non è detto. Piuttosto, nel vCenter Database vengono registrati i valori delle porte originarie in due differente record; è sufficiente perciò eseguire una query SQL per rimettere tutto a posto:

update VPX_EXT_CLIENT set URL = ‘http://vumserver.domain.local:8081/vci/downloads/VMware-UMClient.exe’ where Ext_Client_ID = ‘3?
