Le performance I/O di Exchange 2010 su vSphere

Ho letto con piacere questo interessantissimo articolo di vmware, che vi consiglio.

Vi mostra come i miglioramenti portati da Microsoft su Exchange 2010 abbiano ridotto notevolmente l’I/O disco richiesto, rispetto alle versioni precedenti, spostando l’attenzione su un uso maggiore della ram, al giorno d’oggi sempre più economica.

Potrete vedere come in ambienti di grosse dimensioni (la simulazione gestiva 8000 utenti) l’uso di quantitativi importanti di ram inizia a perdere di efficacia nel migliorare le prestazioni oltre i 32 Gb di RAM.

Tenetelo presente quando andate a dimensionare una VM per Exchange 2010: non lesinate sulla RAM, ma non create nemmeno una mostro-VM…
