Heads Up! Error in vSphere 5.5 when backing up vmdk at 2TB or larger (with HotAdd)

VMware has warned about a bug in VDDK 5.5: if you are running vSphere 5.5 and you backup a vmdk disk larger than 2TB using HotAdd mode, it fails silently, while it reports it completed successfully.

Nutanix NX-7110: GPU power for VDI

Nutanix announced today the availability of new and updated models based on Ivy Bridge CPUs, for its NX-3000 and NX-6000 families, and most of all a completely new model specifically designed for High PErformance VDI environments.
The new model is named NX-7110, and for the first time in Nutanix catalog, one of their product is built with Nvidia Grid GPU cards.

Veeam Backup & Replication 7.0 R2 is out, with support for vSphere 5.5 and Hyper-V 2012 R2

Veeam has just released their new version of Veeam Backup & Replication, named 7.0 R2 (build number 7.0.0.764). Besides being the first release to use this new numbering type, the last release of their flagship backup software has some new important features: the first and foremost is the official support for the latest virtualization solutions, that are VMware vSphere 5.5 (along with vCloud Director 5.5) and Hyper-V 2012 R2.
