Veeam VESS series 1: Introduction

Luca Dell'Oca, October 29, 2012December 4, 2016

Now that Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5 is generally available, it’s time to deep dive into my personal favorite feature of this new version: Veeam Explorer for SAN Storage (VESS). I already described it here, so I’m not going to repeat it again.

This time, I created a blog series which will show you how to configure HP Lefthand to be used by VESS (Lefthand is at the moment the only supported storage by VESS), how to connect Veeam to Lefthand, and how to restore data from Lefthand via Veeam Backup.

2: plan your new architecture

3: configure HP LeftHand snapshots

4: Configure and browse LeftHand snapshots inside Veeam Backup & Replication

5: Instant VM recovery via LeftHand snapshots
